There’s no need to cross the island just to follow this list. If none of these areas fits your day, check a nearby restaurant’s current menu for tumbet and ask whether it comes alone or with another dish. For more choices in the capital, see our Palma restaurant guide.

Establiments, Palma

Es Muntant

Start here if you want tumbet as the vegetable dish itself. The restaurant lists a plain version with aubergine, potato and peppers in tomato sauce, and labels it vegan. A separate menu item adds pork loin or egg. Ask for the plain version explicitly when ordering.

Establiments is outside central Palma. Check the route before choosing it for a quick city lunch.

Valldemossa

Ca’n Uetam

Ca’n Uetam lists tumbet with pork loin in its tapas and starters section. It suits a stop in Valldemossa if you want the meat version. The published dish includes pork; the menu does not establish that a plain vegetable portion is available.

Ask about portion size if you want this as your main meal. Its place in the starters section is useful context.

Port de Pollença

Coral Bar Restaurant

Coral lists eggs with tumbet as well as chicken, pork and several fish dishes served with it. This is a north-coast option for a meal that includes tumbet as an accompaniment. The menu describes a version with courgette alongside potato, aubergine and red pepper.

Eggs with tumbet is not vegan. For a vegetable-only plate, ask the restaurant whether it can serve one separately.

What you’re ordering

Tumbet is a layered Mallorcan vegetable dish with potato, aubergine, peppers and tomato sauce; some versions include courgette. The Balearic Islands tourism agency’s guide to tumbet describes both vegetable-only servings and versions accompanied by meat or fish.

That distinction matters when you read a restaurant menu. A dish named “chicken with tumbet” includes chicken. If you want a vegetarian or vegan meal, ask about the complete serving and how it’s prepared. Es Muntant’s plain version is explicitly labelled vegan on its menu; the other entries above don’t establish a vegan option.

When calling, ask: “Do you have tumbet today? Can I order it on its own?” Then confirm the kitchen’s serving hours. Published menus can change, and a restaurant’s opening hours don’t always tell you when its kitchen serves food.

How we chose these restaurants

We checked the three official menus linked above on 24 September 2026 and included places that name tumbet as a dish or accompaniment. Areas and contact details come from the restaurants’ own sites. The list covers different parts of the island, but it isn’t exhaustive. We haven’t assessed taste, portion size or service, and we haven’t confirmed same-day availability by phone.
