MajorDocs Festival
About this event
MajorDocs is Mallorca's international creative documentary festival, built around the idea of slowing down. Over five days in November, eight carefully chosen films explore fractured landscapes, displacement and reinvention, followed by conversations with their makers in an intimate setting.
Festival rhythm
Each film gets its own screening with no competing programme, so the audience can stay with the work. Discussions with directors take place after the lights come up, and workshops on documentary craft run alongside the screenings.
Lineup & jury
The official jury includes Jean-Gabriel Périot, Natalia Castro Picón and Marko Grba. Balearic short films are judged by Josep Alorda, Joan Carles Martorell and Eugenia Sampedro. Filmmakers and industry guests will be present throughout.
Pricing
Awards include a Jury Award of €1,500 presented at the closing ceremony, an Audience Award voted by viewers, and Pitch Awards offering Beldocs Industry Days access and a DOCMA distribution consultation. Check the festival site for individual screening and pass prices.
Practical
Screenings are held indoors. Volunteers are welcome and receive access to films in exchange for their time. Check the official site for accessibility details and the full schedule.
