Heritage Guided Visits
About this event
Heritage visits across three towns
This autumn the Consell de Mallorca opens three historic water and farming sites to the public for free. Each visit is a guided walk that explains the history and engineering of the place, from centuries-old irrigation to traditional olive pressing. Places are limited and handed out in order of registration.
Visit schedule
Galatzó hydraulic mills — Calvià, 10 October
Meet at the car park of the Galatzó public estate at 10:30. Expect around two and a half hours exploring the historic water mills.
Hort d'en Copido waterwheel — Alcúdia, 24 October
Meet at the entrance to the Roman city of Pollentia on Avinguda Prínceps d'Espanya at 10:30. The visit lasts about two hours and is a good pairing with the archaeological site.
Son Torrella olive press — Santa Maria del Camí, 7 and 14 November
Meet at the junction of Camí de Coanegra and Camí de Son Torrella at 10:30. This is the shortest visit, at around one hour, and runs on both dates.
Tickets and registration
All visits — free, registration required
Spaces are limited and allocated by order of registration. Book by email at visitapatrimoni@conselldemallorca.net or by phone on 971 007 616 or 971 219 815.
Practical information
These visits take place outdoors on uneven ground, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water and sun protection. Meeting points are listed above, and the Calvià and Alcúdia sites are easiest to reach by car. The programme is run by the Consell de Mallorca with support from the Ajuntament d'Alcúdia, the Ajuntament de Calvià and the private owners of the Son Torrella press.
