Mercat de l'Olivar
Plaça de l'Olivar, Palma
Mercat de l'Olivar is Palma's largest covered food market, just off Plaça d'Espanya. Stalls brim with fresh seafood, cured meats, local cheeses, olives, saffron, artisan oils and seasonal produce, and there is a dedicated fish-market section where you can buy the catch and have it cooked to order at the adjacent bars. Perch at a counter for just-shucked oysters with a glass of white or cava. It is a morning affair: come early, as most stalls start packing up around 2pm and it closes Sundays. Expect crowds and shared tables at lunchtime.
